Our Structures / Barns
Post And Beam Timber Barns
Picture yourself stepping into a ruggedly handsome timber barn — a standout space on your property with the durability and charm of true timber framing. And with its wide-open floor and warm exposed beams, it’s just as ready to host a wedding, a reception, or a gathering to remember.
What it is
A Timber Frame Built To Work
A post and beam barn is built with the same hand-cut mortise-and-tenon joinery and solid Eastern Hemlock timbers as all our buildings. The result is a clear-span, open floor with soaring exposed beams overhead: a warm, weather-protected space made for gathering.
It’s the kind of setting couples and hosts look for — handsome enough for a wedding or reception, flexible enough for showers, reunions, and community events, and every bit as capable when you need it for a workshop or storage. One building, built to hold whatever moment matters most.
Why A Timber Barn
Storage And Workspace With Real Character
1
Fully Enclosed Shelter
Unlike an open pavilion, a barn is built out with walls, doors, and a weathertight roof — true year-round storage and workspace.
2
Real Eastern Hemlock
The same solid hemlock timbers we use across our pavilions and custom frames, chosen for strength and standing up to daily use.
3
True Mortise-And-Tenon Joinery
Frames are hand-cut and joined the traditional way — a method that’s proven itself for generations.
4
Workshop Or Storage — Or Both
Open the interior up for equipment and vehicles, or fit it out as a dedicated workshop with room to spread out.
5
Exposed Timber Character
The frame stays visible on the inside, giving a working building the warmth and craftsmanship of fine furniture.
6
Sized To Your Property
Every barn is built to order, so the footprint and layout are set around how much space you actually need.
Uses & Character
A Barn That Works As Hard As It Looks Good
A Workshop Worth Spending Time In
Exposed beams and rafters overhead turn a workshop or garage into a space you actually want to be in — plenty of room for a workbench, tools, and whatever project is underway.
Room To Store What Matters
A weathertight timber barn is built to hold on to what you’d rather not leave out in the weather — equipment, vehicles, feed, firewood, or the things that have simply outgrown the garage.
Built The Same Way We Build Everything
Every barn frame is cut and joined with the same true mortise-and-tenon joinery as our pavilions and custom structures — a method that’s held up for centuries, not a fastener-and-plywood shortcut.
Made To Fit
Every Barn Is Sized And Detailed For Its Job
Because each one is built to order, the footprint, layout, and finish are set around how you plan to use it — workshop, storage, or both.
Footprint
Sized to fit your property and how much storage or workspace you need.
Bay Layout
Open interior, divided bays, or a dedicated workshop area, arranged to suit your use.
Doors & Openings
Barn doors, overhead doors, or man doors, placed and sized for the way you’ll move in and out.
Finish
Natural, stained, or painted timber and siding to match your home or landscape.
Pricing
Every Barn Is Quoted To The Project
Because size, layout, doors, and finish all vary by project, we price barns individually rather than off a fixed list. Share your dimensions and how you plan to use the space, and we’ll put together a quote.
Good To Know
Frequently Asked Questions
What is it built from?
Real Eastern Hemlock timber, joined with true mortise-and-tenon joinery — the same materials and craftsmanship as our pavilions and custom timber frames.
What size barn can you build?
Because each barn is built to order, the footprint and layout are set to your property and intended use rather than picked from a fixed list. Share your space and how you plan to use it, and we’ll help size it correctly.
Can I customize the layout, doors, and finish?
Yes. Bay layout, door style and placement, and finish are all set to fit the way you’ll use the building — let us know what you have in mind when you request a quote.
How do I get pricing?
Barns are quoted individually based on size, layout, and finish. Request a quote and we’ll follow up with pricing for your specific project.
Can a barn be used as a wedding or event venue?
Absolutely — it’s one of the most popular reasons people build one. A clear-span timber frame gives you an open, weather-protected floor with real character for ceremonies, receptions, and gatherings. We can size the footprint and openings around seating, a dance floor, and how guests will move through the space.
